In 2006, the company cooperated with experts from the Department of Metal Materials of Jilin University, the current leader of the magnesium alloy research group of Jilin University, and members of the magnesium alloy wheel research group of the National 863 Project to carry out the research and development of magnesium alloy series products. The total investment of the project was 90 million yuan, covering an area of 80 mu, and a total construction area of 20000 square meters. At present, the first phase of the project has been completed and put into formal production. Its magnesium alloy series products have obtained national patents, filling the gap in the application of magnesium alloy materials in the field of bicycles in China, which will certainly lead to another raw material revolution in the Bicycle industry. The products such as bicycle wheel rims, frames, mud boards and coat hangers are made of magnesium alloy profiles, which have broad market prospects at home and abroad with their light weight, durability, beauty and other characteristics. The second phase of the project will extend the products to the automotive industry, with an expected output of 310 million yuan, a profit and tax of 19 million yuan, and the creation of 1000 job opportunities.
At present, the Tianjin bicycle industry has incorporated the development of magnesium alloy series products into the overall industry development plan, and the Henley magnesium alloy project has become a leading enterprise in this plan. At that time, the magnesium alloy series products of the Lutai Development Zone bicycles will be more closely integrated into the development of the Tianjin bicycle industry.
