Behind the Technological Innovation of Light Electric Vehicles is Business Opportunities
Leading the New Generation Energy Revolution
From the requirements of China's new urban comprehensive transportation system, light electric vehicles have become an ideal substitute and supplement for expensive sedans and crowded buses, with an objective technical and demand foundation. The development of the light electric vehicle industry may breed an industrial revolution initiated by China, and become a new fulcrum for China to lead the new generation of energy revolution, and an important growth point for promoting the construction of a harmonious and innovative society in China. This is the prediction made in the report of the Research on the Development Strategy of Light Electric Vehicle Industry, which was organized by the China Economic Report Research Group and participated by the Development Research Center of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other ministries. The report believes that although China's light electric vehicles are in the early stages of industrial development and the scale of the industry is not large, their rapid growth rate is rare among many industries, especially the new industry formed based on the effective combination of electric technology and transportation, which has begun and will continue to have a profound impact on China's industrial upgrading, technological progress, and even the optimization of energy structure.
China is currently in a critical period of rapid urbanization and continuous expansion of urban scale. The rapidly growing demand for sedans in the private transportation sector is pushing more and more large and medium-sized cities to the limit of transportation capacity. In order to alleviate traffic congestion, many cities regard the development of large-scale public transport systems as the only way to solve the problem. However, due to the constraints of investment scale and stable macroeconomic growth, as well as the inherent limitations of public transport, light electric vehicles, as a fast, convenient, pollution-free, noise free and relatively inexpensive mass transport, just make up for this gap.
In 2005, the light electric vehicle industry experienced a remarkable "blowout" market, becoming one of the few "highlights" in the durable consumer goods market. In 2005, the total production of various light electric vehicles (including electric bicycles) by hundreds of enterprises across the country is expected to exceed 9 million units, with exports of approximately 2-3 million units, achieving an industrial output value of 20 billion yuan, profits and taxes of approximately 6 billion yuan, and employment in related production and service fields reaching nearly 1 million people. At present, China's production and sales of light electric vehicles account for over 90% of the world's total, and China has become the world's largest producer, consumer, and exporter of light electric vehicles. It is expected that the production and sales volume will reach 15 million vehicles in 2006. With the prosperity of production and consumption of light electric vehicles, China has formed the world's largest supporting industry system for light electric vehicles, and has formed important industrial clusters and formed service networks in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Tianjin, becoming a new highlight in the upgrading of the industrial structure of the "Yangtze River Delta". Compared with foreign counterparts, China's light electric vehicle industry not only leads the world to reach the level of industrialization, but also has original intellectual property rights, and has become a well deserved symbol of Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation's advanced level in many core technology fields. Based on this, China has become a global manufacturing and research and development center for light electric vehicles. While product exports are growing rapidly, it has attracted more and more foreign enterprises to invest in and develop the light electric vehicle industry in China.
